Greg Huntress, OD

Dr. Greg Huntress received his doctorate degree in 1990 from the University of Missouri College of Optometry.  Academic achievements included graduating on the Dean's list, membership in Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity, and recipient of the Award for Clinic Excellence.  In 2002, Dr. Huntress also achieved Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.  Fellows of the Academy are committed to the premise that learning is a lifelong obligation of a professional, as is the commitment to expand the profession's knowledge base through ongoing Fellowship and exchange. In qualifying for and maintaining fellowship, individuals are evaluated against the highest standards of professional competence. The letters "FAAO" (Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry) after an optometrist's, scientist's or other qualified person's name signify to colleagues and patients that rigorous qualifications for fellowship have been met. In addition, Dr. Huntress is an active member of the Southwest Missouri Optometric Society, Missouri Optometric Society, and the American Optometric Society.  Furthermore, courtesy staff privileges are also currently maintained at Cox Monett Hospital.

Dr. Huntress treats refractive conditions requiring glasses or contact lens correction.  In addition, a special interest is held in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease and injury, as well as, the co-management of surgical treatment of the eye.  Glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, keratoconus, lasik corrective surgery, and eye infections are some of the conditions routinely managed at Visionhealth Eye Center.

Dr. Greg treats patients the way he would want to be treated.  He feels that being brought up in an optometric family has given him some added benefit and insight in patient care.  His father, uncle, and cousin have all enjoyed successful careers in optometry.  When not practicing, Dr. Greg enjoys the time spent with his wife Suzette and two children, Kate and Alex.

Justin Hart, OD

Dr. Hart specializes in developmental optometry with primary interests in pediatric eye disorders and complicated vision problems.

Dr. Hart is licensed to practice full-scope optometry, and can treat eye diseases such as conjunctivitis, eye infections, dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration as well as other conditions causing pain or reduced vision. Dr. Hart has a special interest in children's vision and vision therapy. As a child, Dr. Hart was diagnosed with strabismus, or an eye turn, which was later corrected with surgery and therapy. He has a true understanding for the special needs and considerations of children with eye and visual conditions. Dr. Hart studied Vision Therapy while at NSU and completed an internship with a vision therapy clinic in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Hart received the Dr. Martin Kane award for research in Vision Therapy in 2005.

Dr. Hart received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a double minor in Chemistry and Physics at Pittsburg State University. He then attended Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry and graduated magna cum laude in 2006.

 Dr. Hart received numerous awards and honors during his optometric studies. He was a member of the NSU Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa (honors fraternity), was the recipient of the Certificate of Clinical Excellence Award, the Heart of America Contact Lens Student Grant awarded for scholarship, leadership and civic duty, and was honored with the Chester Phieffer Award for Vision Science Research.

In his free time, Dr. Hart enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah and their three sons Trysten, Grayson, and Remington.
